Meeting up with Margaret Wynn

Mom and I had the great opportunity of meeting Oak Lawn descendant Margaret Wynn again. The day was blistering hot, but Margaret took the time to talk about some of her family history at Oak Lawn, and took us over to Carver Memorial Cemetery, where her other family members are buried. After leaving Carver Memorial, Margaret drove me around Suffolk, and pointed out some of the key sites of African American history in the city, including the former East Suffolk School (Rosenwald), which now serves as the East Suffolk Recreation Center. A very interesting day.
