Hertford County, North Carolina: Mill Neck Missionary Baptist Church, Como (2021)

About This Project

Thanks to a member of the church, we were able to secure a photo of the old Mill Neck Baptist Church, established in 1866 by Abram Vann, my paternal great-great-great-great-grandfather. Abram was born enslaved about 1813 near Como, in the Maneys Neck district of northern Hertford County. A school was also established on the property, that preceded the current Mill Neck School (Rosenwald) by over fifty years.
